Love Quran 2014 - The Revelation of Mercy Jun 18, 2014
This grand event was organised by The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in the Holy Month of Ramdhan in June 2014. The “Love Quran – The Revelation of Mercy 2014” was held for three days on 18th, 19th and 20th of June 2014 at Porchester Hall, London, UK. The event featured The Revelation of Mercy Quran Festival in the evenings and the Love Quran Exhibition during the day in order to celebrate the Revelation of Mercy (Quran) in preparation towards the holy month of Ramadhan, with the introducing of Justice, Peace, Love, freedom and unity amongst all Muslims. Event Structure: 1- Love Quran Exhibition – 13:00 to 22:00 2- The Revelation of Mercy Festival – 19:00 to 22:00 Aims and Objectives: The event intended to unite and accommodate Muslims of all sects under the banner of the Quran, and to attract all Muslims and also Non-Muslims to the true essence of Islam by raising awareness and spreading the correct understanding of the Noble Quran as the true Revelation of Mercy. The main objective was to educate the community and raise public awareness towards the true teachings of the Holy Quran, to strengthen the unity within the Muslim community through the presence of Muslim audience and businesses from all Islamic faiths and backgrounds. The event attracted more than 500 attendants per day and carried out a National Quran Competition with expert judges from Egypt, and also an Art competition in Partnership with Ahlan Art featuring expert judges. The Love Quran Exhibition attracted a variety of Islamic Businesses across the UK to present and sell their products, relative to the holy Quran, in a move which sought to create a diverse Islamic network for Islamic businesses in the UK and to boost and promote their business and brand and to attract the wider community to Islamic businesses. Furthermore, to provide a wide range of selected products from each business which would be convenient in raising awareness about Islam and mainly the holy Quran, and to provide access to the public to books, and all educational Islamic products to help them increase their knowledge and understanding of Islam and the Holy Quran. The Revelation of Mercy Festival featured entertaining and educative activities, competitions, speeches, and Quran recitation, as well as Islamic Halal Cuisine which was provided by a famous and professional restaurant. The main objective of the festival was to provide the platform for Muslims to get together and socialise regardless of the Islamic Faith they follow, in a move which aims to bring all Islamic Faiths together in the light of the holy Quran, and to provide the means for preparation for the holy month of Ramadhan by raising awareness of the Revelation of Mercy, which was revealed in the holy month of Ramadhan through a variety of activities including series of lectures by popular and accepted Islamic figures.
